Apple CEO Tim Cook Visits China in Wake of Poor iPhone Sales, Meets with Vice Premier

Apple may have a big event for software developers which is WWDC 2019 and coming up on March 25th, but this event may not be helpful to stop the CEO Tim Cook from going on tour. He was in Beijing last week and take a tour of local landmarks and hold a meeting with China’s Vice Premier Sun Chunlan.

According to state-run Xinhua news agency that during the meeting it is discussed that the pair discussed education and further cooperation was promised. Apple is keen to make sure that everyone is aware that its iPads and Swift programming language have a home in schools, and this was presumably a topic of conversation.

In China Tim Cook visit the Forbidden City and take this chance to push apps which help people around the world to learn about Chinese culture. He also shared his visit on Chinese social network Weibo, that iPhone sales, in particular, have been less impressive than had been hoped.

He said to director Shan that “it is remarkable to see so many cutting edge apps from 600 years old it’s a wonderful way to marry the old and the new to help people around the world to learn about Chinese culture.” He also visited Hongen Education, an outfit that is integrating AR into its products. He also spent time at Apple’s Wangfujing store and talk about Today at Apple event relating to music.

It is expected that Tim Cook will make his way back to the US pretty soon to get ready for Monday’s media event. In this event, it is expected that Apple focused on its services with new streaming videos and also talk about new pipeline projects of Apple like 2019 iPad mini, iPad, Airpower, Air pods 2.
