The Internet offers children and adults access to various network contents easily. But this great opportunity of the current generation also involves the danger that an average child has access to “adult content” (even involuntarily). And digital technologies allow them to do it much more easily than before. More and more children have smartphones and tablets nowadays that they often use to visit unsuitable websites or download potentially harmful apps when they are not at home and parents cannot see them.
This has a negative effect on many aspects of children’s lives. Studies have shown that there is a link between the aggressiveness of children and their exposure to pornography and the content that should be out of their reach. Some children have serious study problems. And this also affects their relationships with family, friends and the world at large.
If you are a parent, you need to keep in mind that your child could easily find adult content on a tablet or smartphone with an Android operating system. Apps on Google Play store, movies and Google search can show images that you don’t want your children to see. Even the search for the word “Piccolo” can show images and websites on the first page of Google search. The good news is that you can put restrictions on them. As parents, we sometimes give our phone to our children to keep them happy while they run errands. If you are someone who does this, you should seriously consider placing restrictions on your phone.
Children always seem a step ahead of their parents when it comes to technology. Adding restriction controls to keep your children away from inappropriate websites and images that they shouldn’t see.
Block Inappropriate Websites on Android
Because smartphones are becoming more popular, teenagers (and even adults) have easy access to the Internet. And once they have Internet access, they are open to all kinds of things: good, bad and even pornographic.
Studies have confirmed the positive correlation between children’s exposure to pornography and aggressive behavior. Websites do not impose strict rules to block pornography for children, it all boils down to parents and their willingness to avoid it.
Although it is not possible to prevent them from using a smartphone you can take certain measures to block pornography or any type of adult content on your Android smartphone and tablet.
Note: In this article, we are not encouraging you to spy on your children. It’s not nice But, if your child is not old enough to have a mature conversation, then it is better to block all adult content on your phone.

By default, we use our ISP’s DNS, but if we replace it with OpenDNS DNS servers, all requests sent by our phone will first go through the OpenDNS server. And if it is found inappropriate, then OpenDNS will automatically block it.
To configure OpenDNS as the default DNS server, go to Settings => WiFi => select your home Wi-Fi network => Advanced Option => Change DNS settings => and add the following values.
DNS 1: 126.96.36.199

Cover is relatively a new app that helps you hide the NSFW content of your phone. The app uses artificial intelligence to automatically filter the downloaded content on the phone. With this app, you can hide images, GIFs and videos in your gallery. The app primarily focuses on people who are in embarrassing situations, not removing explicit content and delivering the phone to someone who slips after seeing the cute photo of a dog trying to show.
When installing the app for the first time, it scans the storage space, extracts the NSFW content and hides it from the gallery. Once the gallery has been cleaned, you can activate a service that constantly monitors and hides all NSFW content that you can download “accidentally”. The service that runs constantly in the background can affect the battery, but you can customize this feature in the settings page.
Although Cover does a good job of detecting NSFW content and hides it automatically, there was a lot of NSFW content that the app ignored completely. However, you can still hide those images and videos under the cover by tapping the Share button in the image and selecting the Cover option.
Why Use Cover?
- Sweeps your gallery automatically for any potential NSFW content
- Constantly monitors and hides NSFW content from the gallery
- Mutes saved videos automatically on the phone
