Huawei P30 To Get Two New Color Options Next Week

Huawei P30, one of the current high-end phones from the Chinese manufacturer, has something even most of the premium phones of the 2019 company will have: The Android version of Google Play services, including the main Google apps. It appears that the next Huawei Mate 30 series will not be able to get a Google license to use its variant of the open-source Android operating system. This is because Huawei has been banned from accessing its US-based supply chain. After being included in the list of entities of the Department of Commerce on May 16th for security reasons. Huawei does not plan to use HarmonyOS recently announced for the Mate 30 line and could use an open-source version of Android similar to the one used by Amazon for its Fire tablets.

Although Huawei P30 was launched in April, there is some news on the phone. According to LetsGo Digital, the manufacturer submitted an application to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for two new Huawei P30 design patents; Each patent covers a new color for the phone which is currently available in black, aurora and breathable crystal.

These new colors for Huawei P30 could be unveiled as soon as next week

The first new color in the design patent appears to be a different version of the Breathing Crystals color option, with the same multicolored appearance at the bottom of the rear glass panel of the phone. Breathing Crystals is actually a mixture of different colors that allow the device to look different depending on the lighting; Sometimes it will appear blue and at other times it may appear white. The difference with the color option seen in the patent app is that the upper part of the back panel is an Aqua color. This part of the phone does not change color like the rest. The line that divides the Aqua part from the back of the rest of the respirator-like design is just below the chamber.

If the second new design patent app for Huawei P30 looks familiar, it is because the black and gray colors should remember the “Panda” version of Google Pixel 2 XL of 2017. The latter was black at the top right of the part top of the fingerprint scanner and the rest of the panel was white. Both this patent and the aforementioned design patent were registered on May 28th. New versions of the P30 with these color options could be presented next week in Berlin at IFA 2019. It is not clear if the P30 Pro will also be available with these new colors.

Huawei P30 is equipped with an AMOLED screen with 6.1-inch notches with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 (FHD +). This translates into a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The Kirin 980 chipset of its own production is under the hood along with 6 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage space. On the back, there is a triple setup (40MP primary + 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom + 16MP ultra-wide angle). The front of the phone has a 32 MP selfie camera and a 3650 mAh capacity battery keeps the lights on. The phone has a fingerprint scanner on the screen and with an IP53 degree of protection, it is resistant to rain and splashes.

Huawei has a precedent for offering new half-generation colors for the “P” series during IFA. The company did something similar with the P20 2018 series, offering four new colors in August, just before last year’s IFA show. This year, IFA will start on September 6th and last until September 11th. On September 19, we could see Huawei introducing the Mate 30 series, which should be the manufacturer’s biggest hit every year in terms of phones.
