Huawei Responds After Its Android License Is Revoked

Huawei Sacks Polish Worker Arrested

The Chinese phone maker Huawei is in a crisis after the news that Google has revoked the Android license this weekend and recently the company has shared its response to the situation. In a statement sent to The Verge, the company struggled to report its contribution to the Android suite.

Huawei wanted to point out that while other smartphone makers were seeing a drop or at least a past number of sales, they were able to grow their Android business considerably. It was also ensured that the owners of Huawei and Honor knew that they would continue to receive assistance for their existing devices, despite recent events.

Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefitted both users and the industry.

“Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally.

We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.”

The company was granted a temporary license to continue providing updates

A report by Reuters states that the company was granted a temporary license to continue to provide Android updates to existing devices until August of this year.

Now that phone owners are already certain that their phones will still have access to the Play Store after a Google announcement, they are now on Huawei to find a solution for future phone sales worldwide. It is said that he is already working on a replacement for Google’s Android services, although it is not clear to what extent the development work has progressed.
