It Is Expected That Huawei Mate X Is No Longer Beat The Galaxy Fold On The Market

Almost six months after the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X were shown for the first time, the race is still for which of the two technology giants can deliver a functional folding device in the hands of customers by the end of the year.

Radically different in their implementations of a new innovative design, the flexible phones had similar difficulties when the two companies tried to increase production. There have been a series of seemingly endless delays and, although Samsung seems fairly certain that it will be able to launch sales next month, potential first Mate X users may have to wait until November.

It is not clear exactly what caused this latest setback, but according to new information obtained by TechRadar at a recent Shenzhen press event, “release date in September is not possible”. The launch program of the innovative drop-down phone has already been revised from an initial June goal, so it is certainly disappointing to hear about another referral.

It is no surprise that a design like this requires so much refinement and preparation, especially as it seems that Huawei has changed the original Mate X prototype in several important ways, adding a fourth camera on the back and reducing the weight to the risk of reducing also battery life.

Believe it or not, the company is already waiting for a possible sequel to Mate X that could be even more imaginative and futuristic, as well as more difficult to mass-produce. Huawei is considering the possibility of manufacturing the glass back cover instead of steel and, yes, converting these surfaces into usable touchable screen displays. This brings the idea of a “full screen” smartphone to a whole new level, but before you get too excited, you should keep in mind that this is simply a concept that may or may not work in the near future.

Meanwhile, Huawei is reportedly pushing for a commercial launch of Mate X by November so as not to miss the holiday season altogether, at least in the markets where the folding device should arrive, which obviously does not include the US.
